Camila Vela was born in Cali, Colombia, and grew up in Lima, Peru. She graduated from Trinity College in 2024, earning a degree in English Literature and Environmental Science, with a minor in Studio Arts. Other formative experiences include undergraduate study at the Savannah College of Art and Design, and coursework at The University of the Arts, Philadelphia. Her work focuses on movement, the human body, and the relationships between humans and the non-human world.

Her work was featured in the “Personal Histories” exhibition in 2023 at the Poon Family Art Gallery, Hartford. Her first solo show, “In Between,” took place in April at The Mill, in Hartford, CT. She currently lives and works in Miami, FL.
